The most fearsome tool for forearms and a grip of steel!
Steel wrist roller, supplied with its mount for the racks and squat stands of the Athéna range (60 x 60 mm). Wind up the strap, load an Olympic plate and feel your forearms work like never before, the wrist roller remains the simplest and most effective grip exercise there is.
Two ways to use it for two levels of intensity. Held freehand, arms extended in front of you, the exercise works forearms, wrists, shoulders and core. Mounted on your rack or your Athéna squat stands with the included bracket, it fully isolates the forearms, no more shoulder fatigue limiting the set, your forearms work to true failure.
The textured handles give a comfortable grip, even with sweaty hands, and the central channel guides the strap for a clean wind every time. The strap adjusts over 10 lengths and takes your Olympic plates (bore 50 mm) via its carabiner, the intensity progresses with you, from the first 1.25 kg plate to the loads that make you grimace. For fine progression, the precision fractional plates from 0.25 to 1 kg are perfect for it.
Why train your forearms and your grip
Grip is the weak link for most lifters, it is often the first thing to give out on deadlift, rows or weighted pull-ups. A few sets of wrist roller at the end of a session are enough to durably strengthen the flexors and extensors of the wrists, with direct transfer to all your pulling. It is also an excellent prevention tool for elbows and wrists heavily loaded by heavy movements.
Exercises and Muscles Worked with the Wrist Roller
Winding in pronation (forearm extensors), winding in supination (forearm flexors and biceps), work with arms extended freehand (shoulders, traps, core), controlled eccentric unwinding for maximum time under tension.
Use and safety advice:
- Start light, a plate of 2.5 to 5 kg is plenty for the first sessions, the exercise is harder than it looks.
- Control the descent of the plate on the unwind, the eccentric phase is the most productive, do not let the strap run.
Benefits:
- Mount included, compatible with the whole Athéna range (racks, squat stands) and any 60 x 60 mm structure, total isolation of the forearms, impossible to cheat with the shoulders.
- Strap adjustable over 10 lengths with carabiner, load any Olympic plate in seconds.
- Steel construction with textured handles and central channel, the strap winds cleanly, session after session.

Frequently asked questions
How do you use a wrist roller?
Two ways: held out at arm's length, which also works the shoulders and core, or mounted on an Athena rack or squat stands with the included bracket, which isolates the forearms completely.
What weight should you start with?
A 2.5 to 5 kg plate is plenty for the first sessions: the exercise is harder than it looks. Control the plate on the way down, that eccentric phase is the most productive.
Is the rack bracket included?
Yes, the bracket comes with the roller and fits 60 x 60 mm Athena racks and squat stands. The strap adjusts to 10 lengths and takes 50 mm bore plates.
