Combo rack or powerlifting rack: which one to choose?
The combo rack combines a squat station and a bench press in a single frame, as in powerlifting competition. The lever model, at €799.99, adjusts the hook height from 100 to 170 cm without removing the weights. The €1,149.99 powerlifting combo rack has roller bench press hooks and a 500 kg maximum load. For a versatile power rack with pull-ups and a pulley, see also the CS-1 range.
Squat stands: the most compact rack
Athéna squat stands replace a squat rack where space is tight: 60 x 60 mm steel, 300 kg capacity, 74 x 61 cm footprint and 184 cm high, holes every 2.5 cm in the bench press zone, built-in wheels and J-hooks included. €279.99 per pair.
Wide powerlifting bench
The UF Power bench is an extra-wide flat bench: 35 cm pad, or 30 cm in the competition version, 43 cm high, 10 cm padding, 11-gauge steel frame and 750 kg capacity. It keeps your shoulder blades stable on a heavy bench press. €239.99.
Frequently asked questions
What ceiling height do I need for a powerlifting rack?
Allow for the height of the rack plus clearance for the loaded bar on the hooks. Athéna squat stands are 184 cm high: they fit under most garage or cellar ceilings.
Is a combo rack enough for the deadlift?
The deadlift is done on the floor, outside the rack. Add a deadlift platform or crash pads to protect your floor.
What is a competition bench press bench?
A flat, stable bench that is narrower than the training version: 30 cm wide for the UF Power competition bench, compared with 35 cm for the standard version.
