A wide handle for clean single arm work
The XL Handle is the cable attachment people underestimate until the day they try it. Its 12 cm width and 31 mm diameter change the way the hand holds the load, and therefore the way the target muscle works.
It is sold individually, and that is deliberate. One handle is enough for all single arm work, and you only buy the second one if you actually need it.
A diameter that spares your elbows
A thin grip concentrates pressure on a narrow band of the palm. A 31 mm diameter spreads that pressure, which does two things. Your forearms and your grip work harder, and your elbows take less punishment on repeated isolation work.
The knurling handles the rest. You no longer squeeze to compensate for a handle that slips, you squeeze because the exercise asks for it.
Steel construction
All steel construction, 1 kg each. This is not an attachment you will replace, and its weight is obvious the moment you pick it up.
Exercises and muscles worked
The XL Handle covers most single arm cable work. Single arm lat pulldown (back, biceps), cable lateral raise (side delts), cable fly (chest), single arm curl (biceps), triceps extension, single arm face pull.
Single arm work is what corrects left to right imbalances. One handle is enough to do it properly.
Usage and safety tips
- Check the carabiner and the cable attachment before every set.
- On single arm work, keep the hips fixed, that is where the benefit of the movement lies.
- Clean the knurling regularly, chalk and sweat eventually clog it.
One handle or two?
This page is for a single handle. For anything done with both arms at once, cable flyes or two arm pulldowns, you need two.
