Work your quads and posterior chain while sparing your shoulders!
The best-balanced SSB on the market, with high-quality modular handles!
SSBs (Safety Squat Bars) let you perform a hybrid movement between the high-bar squat and the front squat, focusing on the quads and upper back muscles. The SSB lets you train this movement comfortably and without stress on your shoulders.
Our bar is designed with an optimised camber that maximises stability on your back, making the Hatfield squat easier. We adjusted the camber from 22° to 20° to give optimal balance when using the bar. The camber angle is now 20°, which makes it the best-balanced bar on the market.
On top of that, our high-quality one-piece pad is made of ultra-dense foam to provide optimal comfort and limit bar movement on your back (unlike bars with a 3-part pad)
Its sleeves are mounted on bearings, so the plates stay stable when the bar rotates. This lets us offer an even more attractive price for this SSB, the best-performing on the French market.
Option to change the handles:
• Classic: short handles (included with the “without” handles version), weight 1.9 kg
• Spider / Long: hands further from your body (included with the “with” handles version), weight 5.3 kg
• Chains: our favourite for stricter execution (it prevents making the movement easier by pushing the handles upwards, included with the “with” handles version), weight 3.0 kg
• L: hands at 90° (included with the “with” handles version), also allows the SSB to be used for plank rows, weight 3.2 kg
• Without handle: JM Press
These handles have a black titanium finish with a textured surface (knurling) for optimal grip.
Exercises with our SSB:
220 cm long, 32 mm diameter, 20.7 kg without handles, 700 kg capacity with 190,000 PSI steel, Olympic sleeves on bearings, 20° camber, Black Titanized finish, one-piece pad in ultra-dense foam.
A hybrid movement between the high bar squat and the front squat that emphasises the quadriceps and the upper back, with no stress on the shoulders, and a 20° curve that maximises stability on the back and makes the Hatfield squat easier.
The version with handles includes the long Spider handles (5.3 kg), the chain handles (3 kg) and the L handles (3.2 kg); the classic short handles (1.9 kg) are included with the version without handles. All are in knurled black titanium, and the bar can also be used without handles for the JM Press.
Squats in both directions to emphasise the quadriceps or the posterior chain, Hatfield squat, good morning, lunges, sissy squat, JM Press and plank rows with the L handles.
With a cambered bar, the bar rotates on its axis as soon as the torso leans forward, in the good morning, the JM press or the lunge. The bearings let the plates spin freely. They stay hanging vertically instead of following the rotation of the bar, which reduces jolts and strain on the handles.
It is one of the most complete on the market. 20° camber, 4 handle systems, 700 kg capacity and sleeves on bearings. These bearings make the difference against competing SSBs with fixed sleeves on movements where the bar rotates, such as the good morning, the JM press, lunges or the Hatfield squat. The plates stay stable, the movement is smoother and the handles are not twisted.
