The bar-plus-dumbbells bundle in its fine-adjustment version. The HR-36P pair covers 4 to 36 kg in 1 kg increments thanks to the 500 g micro-plates, and the 87 cm HRBD bar reuses exactly the same square plates for two-handed movements. Curls, skull crushers, presses and front raises join the repertoire without a second set of weights. See the full range of adjustable dumbbells.
With two hands the load is distributed differently and progression follows a slower rhythm than unilateral work. On a barbell curl or a skull crusher, going from 24 to 26 kg is sometimes the jump too far, whereas a 1 kg increment lets you complete the set cleanly. The 500 g micro-plates of the HR-36P pair apply directly to the HRBD bar, which the 2 kg increment version does not allow.
This precision also counts on two-handed isolation movements, front raises and overhead extensions first among them, where working loads stay modest and a 2 kg gap represents a variation of 10 to 15%.
Working with two dumbbells forces each side to manage its own load, which corrects imbalances and recruits the stabilisers. The bar gives a firmer anchor point and better force transfer on a given movement. Alternating the two formats across a cycle avoids the stagnation that comes with always training the same way.
The HRBD bar uses the square-plate system with safety pins and the thumbscrew clamping of the pair. Transferring the load takes a few seconds, with no tooling. At 87 cm and 11 kg unloaded, it requires neither a rack nor a stand. Note that as the plates are shared, the two tools are used alternately. The technical detail of the pair is on the 4 to 36 kg adjustable dumbbells page.
| Model | Load range | Increment | What it changes |

| HR-36 | 4 to 36 kg | 2 kg | The most accessible format in the steel range |
| HR-36P | 4 to 36 kg | 1 kg | Finer adjustment, useful in isolation work and on the bar |
