Change the load in around ten seconds
The adjustment is made directly on the bar, without dismantling it. Turning the knurled screw about 2 cm is enough to release or lock the plates, so you can chain supersets, drop sets and exercise changes without breaking the rhythm of the session. On a barbell curl followed by a skull crusher, switching from one load to another takes less time than setting up on a rack.
At 87 cm, this bar offers a comfortable two-handed grip while staying compact. On its own it replaces several short bars (EZ, straight) and is used without any particular stand, which makes it a strong choice for a home gym where every square metre counts. Curls, skull crushers, front raises, presses: it covers the essentials of arm, shoulder and triceps work.
A metal build designed for stability
The square head stops the bar rolling, during the effort as well as in storage, and gives it a stable seat on a flat surface. The smooth outer surfaces make it easy to handle and let you rest the bar on your thighs between sets. The body is entirely metal, and the powder-coated steel handle with diamond knurling gives a firm grip even on long sets.
The housing uses the same square pinned plate system as the rest of the UniStrength range: each plate connects with two safety pins and a groove and tongue assembly, with no rattling or slipping during the effort. The structure is rated for 200 kg, well beyond the loads that can actually be fitted on the bar.
An investment you can complete at your own pace
The bar is delivered bare, without plates. Two options for loading it: buy compatible square plates separately, or directly reuse those from your steel adjustable dumbbells if you already own a pair. That is the whole point of this modular logic: one stock of plates serves both your dumbbells and your bar, with no need to buy the same weight twice.
With the standard screws supplied, you can load up to 18 kg of plates, which is 29 kg in total with the bar. The long-screw extension set lets you push the load to 58 kg, enough to support long-term progress without changing equipment.
