Folding safeties: fast, versatile protection
They fit into the uprights like a J-hook, fold down to horizontal and lock with a pin. The CS-1 folding safeties differ from conventional fixed safeties through their pivoting mechanism: once inserted into the uprights, simply lower them to lock them in position. When you no longer need them, raise them against the upright to free up the space inside the rack. This system lets you switch from a safe squat to a deadlift from the floor without removing the safeties, a considerable time saver between exercises.
With a 500 kg capacity, they take failed heavy squats or bench presses without flinching. The 3 mm thick steel guarantees maximum rigidity under load, with no deformation.
Designed for training alone
On a heavy squat or bench press, the bar is caught at the height you have chosen. You can attempt a record or train to failure without a partner.

More than a safety: a multi-purpose platform
The CS-1 folding safeties can also serve as a pulling platform for exercises from a low start (rack pull, partial deadlift). With 1-inch holes on the sides, they are compatible with some accessories of the CS-1 range: leg roller, modular weight storage and band pegs. This versatility makes them much more than a simple safety device.

Frequently asked questions
What are the specifications of the CS-1 folding safeties?
4.5 kg per safety, 75 mm wide, 3 mm thick steel, 500 kg capacity, 1-inch holes on the sides. Sold as a pair, in 76 cm or 104 cm length.
How do the folding safeties work?
Once inserted into the uprights, you lower them to lock them in position, and raise them against the upright to free up the space inside the rack, with no removal between a safe squat and a deadlift from the floor.
Which length should I choose, 76 or 104 cm?
The length matches the depth of the CS-1 rack (76 or 104 cm). The compatibility versions let you use safeties of one depth on a rack of the other depth.
Can the safeties be used for other exercises?
Yes, as a pulling platform for low starts (rack pull, partial deadlift). The 1-inch side holes accept some CS-1 accessories: leg roller, modular weight storage and band pegs.
Folding safeties or straps: which should I choose?
The steel folding safeties fold up against the upright without being removed and serve as a rack pull platform. The nylon straps protect the knurling better and absorb noise and vibration.
Can I train alone with the folding safeties?
Yes, that is their main purpose: they catch the bar if you fail a squat or bench press.
