20 kg bumper plate: the versatile bumper for intensive training
The Uni Strength 20 kg bumper plate is designed to meet the demands of cross-training, HIIT and weightlifting. Sold in pairs (set of 2), it belongs to our full range of Olympic weight plates intended for regular training at home as well as in the gym.
Each plate has a diameter of 450 mm meeting the IWF standard. The reinforced stainless steel insert ensures strong durability and prevents the insert from coming loose after the first few uses. The high-density virgin rubber extends the life of the bumpers and guarantees minimal bounce and a neutral smell, unlike recycled rubber plates that bounce very high.
These plates let you train while limiting the risk of damaging your floor and your equipment.

Training bumper or competition bumper: what is the difference?
The Uni Strength black training bumpers are designed to offer the best value for money for regular use. Their thickness is deliberately greater than that of competition bumpers (71 mm against 54 mm for a 20 kg competition plate): this extra material limits the risk of bending and increases the life of the plate, even with intensive daily use. The weight tolerance is +/- 1 %, which remains accurate for training while allowing a more affordable price.
For lifters looking for a +/- 10 g tolerance, a slimmer profile and IWF colour coding, our range of 20 kg competition bumpers is available. Both ranges use high-density virgin rubber and a stainless steel insert.
Which use is the black 20 kg bumper for?
The 20 kg bumper plate is the reference weight for most training. It is the plate loaded first on each side of the bar for squats, deadlifts, cleans and snatches. In cross-training and HIIT, it withstands repeated drops from hip or shoulder height without damaging the floor or the bar. In a home gym, its minimal bounce and neutral smell make it a particularly suitable choice for an indoor environment.
The 20 kg plate is part of a complete 100 kg set made up of pairs of 5, 10, 15 and 20 kg. Browse the full range in our Olympic weight plates category.
