Full range and adjustment to the kilo
Adjustable dumbbells almost always force a trade-off: either a wide load range with coarse steps of 2 kg or more, or fine adjustment but capped at light loads. The HR-36P removes that compromise with 4 to 36 kg per dumbbell and a 1 kg increment across the whole range, achieved thanks to the 500 g micro-weights supplied with each dumbbell.
A single pair therefore covers lateral raises at 6 kg, where jumping straight to 8 kg would ruin your technique, and the dumbbell bench press at 32 kg. That is also what makes the model relevant for the lower body: lunges, goblet squats and Romanian deadlifts call for loads that a pair capped at 20 kg struggles to reach.
A mechanism designed for heavy sets
The flat side surface lets you rest the dumbbells comfortably on your thighs before a pressing set, something the long through-bolt systems make impossible. The knurled screw clamping locks the plates with no play at all, including on dynamic movements such as rows or heavy presses. The 32 mm knurled chrome handle offers a firm grip and lasting resistance to corrosion.
The plates are connected to each other by two grooved safety pins that eliminate rattling and prevent any dislodging during a set. Their square shape stops them rolling on the floor and makes the pair stable for Renegade Rows. The whole assembly is entirely metal, with no structural plastic, and on its own replaces dozens of pairs of fixed dumbbells in a minimal footprint.
A system that extends instead of being replaced
Once you reach 36 kg per dumbbell, you do not have to start again from scratch. The long-screw extension set and the additional 1 kg and 2 kg plates take the load up to 65 kg per dumbbell, i.e. 130 kg for the pair. That is what structurally sets this format apart from quick-select dumbbells, which are generally capped at 32 or 40 kg with no possible upgrade.
The same modular logic applies to the accessories. The dedicated storage stand puts the loads at grip height and saves you bending down to the floor for every set.
