The hub of these plates features a patented design that significantly extends their lifespan. Many competing competition plates use a single steel disc: this design eventually wears at the junction between rubber and steel, where all the force is transferred. The Uni Strength bumper integrates an additional inner steel ring, combined with a patented bonding method to the rubber plate, for better force absorption and distribution. The raised lettering and raised rubber surface around the centre disc reduce metal-on-metal contact.
